Delta Demo

Thu, 28 May 2009 Source: Kwame Agyeman-Budu

Fellow Countrymen and women;

This is to update you on our concerns against the Delta Airlines on

excess baggage charges and poor customer services. Recently, Delta

Airlines made a decision and broadcasted to the entire world to charge a

fee of $50.00 on the 2nd checked bag starting, July 1, 2009. The Board

Members of CCG brought Delta Airlines officers to the table and had a

lengthy discussions on our concerns and the $50.00 charge on the 2nd

checked bag.

We moved on with our first protest on Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Delta

Airlines' Ticket Office in Manhattan. The attendance was very

encouraging and the protest was peaceful. On behalf of the Board

Members of the Concerned Citizens of Ghana (CCG), I say thank you to all

participants and all those who could not make it and supported us in one

way or the other.

As a result of our recent meeting with Delta Airlines on May 20th 2009

and the subsequent demonstration held in the front of their Manhattan

Office on May 22nd 2009, Delta has informed us that they will continue

to allow two checked bags at no cost to passengers traveling to Accra

and other destinations outside the United States.

Please continue to boycott the use of the Delta Airlines services, until

such time that, we are satisfied with our concerns and demands. Please

post your comments and suggestions at our website at

Thank you.
