Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has described the 800,000 job creation by Mahama’s NDC government as one of the many lies the ruling government has sworn to use to manage the affairs of state.
According to him, this is the style of governance the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by President Mahama has adopted.
In response to criticisms of a poor job-creation record, the government has claimed it has created at least 800,000 jobs since President Mahama was elected in 2013.
In a statement released Monday, Communications Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has provided a list spelling out what the government is doing to combat high unemployment.
In the largest job-creation sector, government says heavy investment in social infrastructure has created employment for more than 400,000 professionals.
Government expects that more teachers, nurses, doctors and pharmacists will be employed when schools and hospitals constructed begin recruitment.
But Nana Akomea on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show urged Ghanaians especially the unemployed youth to demand from President John Mahama the availability of the over 800,000 jobs created since 2013 to access them.
He indicated that similar lies were spewed in 2009 by Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa that 1.6 million jobs have been created wondering why in 2016, there is another statement recounting 4,000 jobs being created and then with another report from the same NDC government quoting 600,000 jobs created under President Mahama.
“…this is difficult to understand. This government does not tell the truth, and if they don’t give Ghanaians evidence, they should not trust the NDC government. This is what they have decided to do to Ghanaians”, he asserted.
He again averred that the NDC Government is living the dream of its leading member, Hon. Baba Jamal, who once told his party communicators to do a whitewashing job by telling lies to Ghanaians so that even a goat should be mentioned as a cow.
