The two municipal and district chief executives for the Denkyira area have been cursed by the traditional authorities there for speaking up to the queen mother of the area following her endorsement of Nana Akufo-Addo.
Nana Ama Ayensua Saara made news last week after she predicted victory for the NPP flagbearer during his campaign tour of the area.
“We are certain that this year, God will lift up Nana Akufo-Addo’s hand. We know that once Nana becomes President, he will never abandon the people of Denkyira. With one mind and heart we will support Nana Akufo-Addo and ask for God’s guidance,” she said.
Following the endorsement, Emelia Ankomah and Ambrose Ashia who are MCE and DCE for the area respectively, rebuked the queen mother, daring her to show records of the NPP's achievement in the area.
The traditional authorities have however taken offends in the conduct of the two government appointees.
At a press conference, acting President of the Denkyira Traditional Council and Chief of Denkyira Obuasi, Nana Adjei Nkyiriye, announced that the Denkyira community is severing ties with the two for disrespecting their queen mother.
“We are telling all Ghanaians and people of Denkyira in particular that Emelia Ankomah and Ambrose Ashia have disgraced the Queen mother, the Traditional Council, Denkyira Township and our gods and for doing this we invoke the great oath and we sever ties with them immediately.”
