A Depot Keeper, Matthias Amanle, 43, was on Tuesday jailed 5 years by a Takoradi Circuit Court for stealing.

He pleaded not guilty but the court presided over by Mr. Kwesi Boakye convicted him after the trial.

Prosecuting, Inspector Fuseini Yakubu told the court that the complainant, Percy Botchway, was a Public Relations Officer (PRO) at the Takoradi Flour Mills whilst Amanle was a depot keeper with the company.

He said on April 2, 2011, just as Amanle started his annual leave, authorities of the Flour Mills received reports from some customers, demanding the supply of their goods, which they claim had been paid for in advance to the convict.

The company’s authorities summoned Amanle to ascertain the truth and he admitted collecting GH¢877, 39.5 from some customers of the company.

Amenle was subsequently handed over to the police and after investigations, arraigned and prosecuted.
