The Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor escaped what could pass for one of the deadly accidents when a huge tree fell on his black Toyota Land Cruiser cross country vehicle he parked at a popular restaurant at the airport residential area, MyNewsGh.com can confirm.
The younger one of the three Jinapor brothers according to what MyNewsGh.com gathered, drove himself to the said restaurant near Ghana Home Loans, parked the vehicle under the tree for some shade and went in to eat only be told the trunk of one of the trees had fallen on the front of the vehicle.
Services of chainsaw operators were sought to chop the trunk on the vehicle into pieces before revealing a smashed windscreen, mangled bonnet among other damaged parts.
The vehicle had to be towed from the scene under heavy security protection with a visibly shaken government official using another vehicle to the office.
It would be recalled that his colleague Francis Asenso-Boakye in May last year was involved in a road accident at 1.45am at Konongo in the Ashanti Region whilst he was accompanying the President for his Brong Ahafo tour.
It is unclear if he was the only occupant in the black Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle and whether some injuries were recorded.
