Captain Smart is the host of Onua Maakye programme on Onua TV
Outspoken broadcaster Captain Smart has levelled a blistering allegation against the National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming that the party received a whopping $500,000 from Kwabena Adu Boahene ahead of the 2024 general elections.
He has also alleged that the same Kwabena Adu Boahene procured four brand new (tier rubber) vehicles around the same election period and dared the NDC to tell the country where those cars are.
Speaking on his popular TV show, Onua Maakye program on Onua TV, Captain Smart exclaimed, "I’m about to throw a third bomb. JB, have you heard about the name of Kwabena Adu Boahene, who has been accused by the Attorney General of purchasing 27 houses?"
He continued, “Did he give the NDC $500,000 before the elections, or did he not give them? Did the NDC take $500,000 from Kwabena Adu Boahene or not?"
The former Director General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), Kwabena Adu-Boahene, is currently standing trial for allegedly diverting and embezzling up to GH¢39 million from the bureau.
Kwabena Adu-Boahene re-arrested
According to Captain Smart, the embattled former NSB director allegedly purchased four brand-new cars, and though he did not specifically mention that those cars were presented to the NDC, which was then in opposition, he dared the party to tell Ghanaians the whereabouts of those vehicles.
Captain Smart said, "He [Adu Boahene] procured four cars, and who received those tier rubber cars? Who kept custody of those cars, and where are those cars now?"
He added, "And who took delivery of the $500,000? Did he give four cars, and where are the cars? Did he pay $500,000, and who took delivery of that money? There's a question, but I have internationally kept it this way".
Although Captain Smart did not produce any documents to authenticate his allegations, he further warned that anyone who tries to tarnish the president's image will be crushed.
This is the second time in recent times that Captain Smart has focused his attention on the government with scathing scrutiny and vituperations, as he has also accused the ministers of the eight-month-old government of having absolutely nothing to show for their stewardships.
