Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has said persons employed by the party to perform certain duties including writing statements, letters and inscriptions on cards for party events must do so with due diligence.
According to him, although those assigned are fallible, they must ensure that some simple mistakes are avoided.
His comments follow some error-ridden cards printed for the NPP’s delegates’ conference to be held at Cape Coast over the weekend. The cards popped up on social media recently.
Some of the inscriptions read “Diplomatic Core” instead of Diplomatic Corps. This error has attracted criticisms on social media.
But Mr Obiri Boahen, speaking on Accra 100.5FM’s Ghana Yensom morning show on Wednesday, August 23 said: “I haven’t seen the actual cards for myself except the ones we are all seeing on social media. That notwithstanding, I will encourage that we do due diligence in whatever work assigned to us.
“I think a second look at the cards by a proof reader would have probably been helpful in avoiding this mistake from happening. It is not the best and I am sure that the Planning Committee will react to it appropriately.”
