The BBC has confirmed that it is still partnering Ghana’s ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, even in breaking new grounds, contrary to reports in a section of the media.

It has therefore described reports that the BBC Africa Eye has distanced itself from Anas as untrue.

Anas has come under barrage of criticisms from persons who are not happy with his style of investigations by entrapping suspects, especially, following his explosive documentary on corruption in football administration in Africa and Ghana in particular.

There has been a grand scheme by some persons offended by his works, including a radio presenter and a popular Member of Parliament to discredit his works and personality.

But the BBC News Africa posted on its official Facebook page on Wednesday stating, “In fact, we are currently working with Anas on a new project,”

Below is the full post by the BBC Africa

Dear BBC Africa followers,

Please note that reports circulating in the media that BBC Africa Eye is distancing itself from Anas Aremeyaw Anas are completely untrue. In fact, we are currently working with Anas on a new project. When we produced our exclusive Africa Eye film, Betraying the Game, we made it perfectly clear from the outset that this was a documentary about his investigation.

Anas has himself confirmed this and agreed that our documentary would include questions about his methods as well as his extraordinary revelations, which were clearly overwhelmingly in the public interest to report.
