The Volta River Authority (VRA) has assured its stakeholders that it would provide uninterrupted power supply to the nation to ensure a safe and conducive work environment in all of its operational areas.
This follows a threat issued by a group of persons, who claimed to be members of a splinter group of VRA employees called Energy Workers Association (EWA), that they would escalate their industrial action to include the disruption of power supply to the country if their demands were not met.
A statement issued by VRA, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, however, stated that: “The Management of the VRA completely disassociates itself from the comments made by this group on any media platform.
“We also categorically state that, the group does not have the mandate to speak on behalf of the Authority in relation to its operations.
“Management has, therefore, taken a very serious view of the incident and is investigating the circumstances that led to its occurrence.”
The Management of VRA said it would continue to use dialogue to resolve the issues, while it served the best interest of the public.
