An Accra Circuit Tribunal has found a couple guilty on a charge of offensive conduct and remanded them until August 30 for sentence.

Anthony Kofi Mensah Djentuh, a public servant and his wife Maria O'Sullevan, an estate developer, were charged on two additional counts of assault on a public officer and deceit of public officer. The tribunal found Mensah Djentuh guilty of assault on public officer while his wife was acquitted and discharged. It acquitted and discharged both of them on the charge of deceit of public officer. The couple pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The Djentuhs are the parents of Selassie, a former boyfriend of Ezanetor Rawlings, the eldest child of the First Family.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Edward Antwi said on January 15, this year, the accused persons went to the Castle in search of their son and some workers of O'Sullevan who were being held for interrogation.

Chief Inspector Antwi said L/Cpl Stephen Tamakloe, the complainant, who was on duty, approached the couple and asked them what they wanted. They did not take kindly to it and shouted on him at the top of their voices. According to the prosecutor, the couple used abusive language like "I will bring you and your foolish President to book," "I will set the Castle on fire" and "You and your leader will come back on the street." The prosecutor said the accused persons then attacked the complainant, held his neck and "twisted it until witnesses in the case intervened and rescued him". He said from the Castle the accused persons went to the Airport Police Station and reported a case of abduction of their son and two workers. They collected a form from the police, which they sent to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and caused an announcement to be made.

Chief Inspector Antwi said at the time that the announcement was made, the accused persons knew that their son and the workers were being held at the Castle for questioning.
