The deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Justice Yankson has reiterated the association’s desire to resign en masse if their service conditions are not improved by 30th June 2015.
The doctors gave the ultimatum in December last year saying the only benefit they enjoy is a two-week mortuary service.
According to them, government must comprehensively review their service conditions, or they leave the health profession entirely.
Reiterating the group’s decision on Morning Starr Thursday, Dr. Yankson told host Kafui Dey that no attempt has been made by government to improve their conditions since the ultimatum was issued some six months ago.
“The date is sacrosanct, we will adhere to all that we said…as we speak, we haven’t negotiated or signed any document and that is the only thing that would take that deadlock off the table.
“The other caveat is if the general assembly meets and they think otherwise, but I don’t think that would happen because everybody is very passionate about this conditions of service”.
