Tumu (U/W), Dec. 23, GNA - Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama on Monday told supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to be complacent again in the presidential runoff but to turn out in their numbers to vote for the party, to ensure victory. He explained that because of some complacency on the part of supporters of the party, victory eluded them in the first round. Alhaji Mahama was addressing supporters of the NPP at Tumu in the Sissala East District as part of his two-day campaign tour of the Upper West Region.

He is in the Region to thank the people for increasing the presidential votes of the NPP and to canvas for more votes for the party in the runoff on December 28. He said the people of Upper West had benefited from the development projects that the government implemented and urged them to give their support to the NPP administration to promote the development of the area.

Alhaji Mahama told the supporters that election was about development and the electorate had the right to make a choice and nobody should be dissatisfied with the choice of the people. Vice President Alhaji Mahama thanked the people of Upper West for the peaceful conduct of the December 7 elections and urged them to ensure that they conducted themselves in a more peaceful manner during the runoff to prove to the world that Ghana's democracy had come to stay.
