Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Nov. 7, GNA- The Deputy Minister of Information, Mr Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, currently on a tour of Brong Ahafo has advised Ghanaians not to bother too much about the Government's endorsement of the Ghana-US surrender of criminals' pact. He explained that no other democratic sitting Government of Ghana could have, in sincerity, disagreed to sign the pact.
The Deputy Minister was addressing Departmental Heads and staff of the Dormaa District Assembly at Dormaa Ahenkro on Thursday.
If people were to look at the issue from the combat or military perspective, Ghana would not have had any business to do with the pact, but Ghana is not under any combat or military conditions and we had to make the hard choice before signing the agreement, he added.
"Legally we were and still are not bound but morally, we took into account the national interest to make that choice", he said.
The Deputy Minister called on the opposition parties "especially our brothers and sisters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop their damaging comments on the Government's stand on the surrender of criminals pact with America".
