Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, has asked the people of Ghana not to "break the eight."
He is rather calling on the people of Ghana to choose the number eight because it represents excellence.
Bagbin made this known in a post shared via social media after John Dramani Mahama and the NDC selected number 8 on the 2024 ballot paper.
“8 is excellence. Don’t break it. Choose it!” his post shared via social media read.
John Dramani Mahama and the NDC will appear as number 8 on the December 7, 2024 election ballot paper.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has, since the start of its campaign, indicated that they are making history by breaking the eight-year cycle of political parties in the country.
They are of the view that they need more time in power to implement the various policies and programs that will make Ghana a force to reckon with.
However, in his recent tweet, the Speaker of Parliament believes that political parties should stay in power for just eight years.
