Don't cause needless agitation with early campaign - John Boadu warns

The NPP has cautioned its members campaigning for various party portfolios to tread cautiously.

The Acting General Secretary who issued this warning stated that the timing of their campaign is wrong.

He insisted that campaigning at this time will lead to needless and unnecessary agitations which isn't helpful to the party.

He urged them to rather focus on assisting the party and government to fulfil its promises it made to Ghanaians for which reason they were overwhelmingly given the mandate to govern.

"We have not opened nominations, the term of office of our officers have not yet expired we expect that they will be careful and cautious of that especially where if we are not careful it may denigrate into needless armaments and controversies. We all fought to win power, from a government that we all consider as corrupt and leading us into an abyss," he stated

He also revealed that any individual who flouts any of the party's regulations will be sanctioned.

He explained that the party expects them to go about their activities in a decorous manner.

John Boadu explained that the conference in August in Cape Coast is not a National delegation Congress to elect new party officials.

He remarked that the Cape Coast conference is to afford the party the opportunity to access itself and address any issues that it may be confronted with at various levels of its structure.

It will also be a time when the party's plans and activities for the coming year will be approved, he suggested

He also revealed that an ultimatum has been issued to all levels of the party to constitutionally replace all party officials who have been given government appointments

He was of the view that any persons who intend to vie for any national position should wait until the August Conference when all plans and program outline will be released.

"I would prefer that we all remain calm. By August after our annual delegates’ conference where firm decisions as to the arrangements, procedure and processes will be given the authority we expect that they should go ahead with the campaign"

"We don't want to be seen as headmasters always with the cane behind us but if they force us we will do so. We don't want to get there. NPP members we believe are law abiding, very democratic and know the rules" he said

He hinted that the party will organise its next election to vote national leaders in April 2018.
