The Right Reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam, Bishop of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana (MCG), has said it was imperative that the citizenry lived and stood by the truth at all time.

"We must be committed to upholding the truth no matter the circumstances in which we find ourselves," he noted.

Rt. Rev. Andam, who was delivering the sermon at an Easter Sunday service at the Adum Wesley Cathedral of the MCG, Kumasi, said it was needed to maintain integrity in the society and stressed that nothing could be replaced with the truth.

He explained that any nation that compromised on honesty in their endeavours was bound to fail.

The programme was designed to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity, and the occasion saw the congregation praying for forgiveness of the nation, prosperity and wellbeing of the people. Rt Rev Andam asked the people to shun vindictiveness and enmity, urging all and sundry to work for unity of the nation.

The citizenry should demonstrate patriotism in the discharge of their duties for accelerated socio-economic development.
