President John Dramani Mahama has pressed on Organised Labour in the country not to focus on only agitations for better conditions of their members, but also focus on job creation that would absorb the teeming youth that are leaving school into the job market.
The President last week granted audience to a delegation from Organized Labour led by the TUC Secretary General, Kofi Asamoah.
The delegation was at the Presidency to congratulate the President on his election victory and swearing-in as President.
President Mahama noted that Ghana has a youth bulge with thousands of graduates being churned out by tertiary and second cycle institutions.
He therefore appealed to Organized Labour to collaborate with government to find workable solutions to labour issues in the country.
The delegation included the Trades Union Congress, Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers, Ghana Registered Nurses Association and the Ghana Federation of Labour.
