Youth organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Okaikoi North constituency, Oliver Ofori Baah, has appealed to Ghanaians to desist from politicising road accidents in the country.

Extending condolences to the families that lost their relatives in the Kintampo gory accident on Monday, he said the accident was gory and painful.

Mr. Baah also used the opportunity to appeal to drivers to rest when tired especially going on long journeys.

He admonished them to maintain a high level of discipline on our roads, eschew all forms of unnecessary over speeding, overtaking and have their passengers at heart.

"Our drivers should maintain a high level of discipline on our roads. They should rest when tired and also recognise that they are managing lives in their vehicles. The over speeding, overtaking and other violations are one too many.”

Mr. Oliver Ofori Baah described the number of deaths in the Kintampo accident as worrying and a loss to the state.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has extended his condolences to the families of those who perished in the Kintampo-Tamale Highway fatality on Monday.

The President also wished the survivors, some of whom sustained various degrees of injuries, a speedy recovery.

The president in a tweet said: "My sympathies and condolences go to all the families and loved ones of the deceased in Monday’s horrific accident on the Kintampo-Tamale Highway. May their souls Rest In Peace. I also wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
