Tema, April 10, GNA - Christians in the Tema Metropolis, on Friday, joined the worldwide commemoration of the death of Jesus Christ with a call on the public to desist from repeating their sins. Pastor Edward Tumsiah, Tema Regional Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, in a sermon on Good Friday, said most people have developed a cycle of changing from their wrong doings during the Easter festivities only to return to them after a short period. Preaching on the theme; "Wonders of the Cross," he said, "Good Friday would be insignificant if people continued, indulging in evil and asking for pardon every year." He said asking for pardon for the same wrong doing yearly was equivalent to crucifying Jesus many times and called for preparedness to change from within in order to fully benefit from the death of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Tumsiah also urged the public to use the period to assess their actions as well and set their priorities straight and pray towards them. The Regional Overseer noted that placing premium on wealth and pleasures had resulted in robbery and killing for money by some unbelievers while others were defiling innocent girls and boys. He called on criminals to value the lives of their neighbours, noting that "nobody has the right to shed another person's blood because Jesus has already sacrificed his for mankind."
