The Police must show professionalism in their investigations into the murder of Abuakwa North MP JB Danquah-Adu and not rush through it, former flagbearer-aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Konadu Apraku has said.

Dr Apraku, in an interview with Class News’ Ridwan Karim Dini Osman at the service to commemorate a week’s anniversary of the lawmaker’s death, expressed qualms about how the Police are handling the case.

“This is an investigation that requires professionalism. I think they should take the time and do a good job.

“It is not worth just rushing to give us results. We want results that are credible, results that we can live with. There may be some people whose interest has been served by his death. We need to get to the bottom of all of that.

“The guy has been arrested; it’s just only one man. He in fact allegedly confirmed that he was hired and paid GHS2,000 to do the job. Somebody must have hired him. We have to get to know the person,” Dr Apraku added.

In a separate interview, Deputy Communications Officer of the NPP, Mike Oquaye Jnr, said he did not have faith in the investigations.

“To be honest, I am not too sure what exactly is going on. People have their doubts if the person arrested is even the person in the first place and so on and so forth. His claim that he went there to steal and ended up murdering whereas it looks as if he went there to murder and ended up stealing… to be honest, I am not happy with the work that is going on.

“I don’t believe in the investigation, I don’t have faith in it. I don’t know who to blame, but I just know something has gone wrong. That guy could not have gone to somebody’s house, climbed a window, gone to stab the person in a deadly attack and later on tell us he went there for just three mobile phones. Does it make sense to you? It doesn’t make sense to anybody,” he bemoaned.
