CHRISTIANS HAVE been warned not to fall as victims to the works of some ‘false prophets’ who claim they have been called and ordained by the Almighty God.

In an interview with hillgospelnews.com, Odeefuor Nana Kwame Frimpong of Assemblies of God, Stadium Branch, Kumasi, sounded the caution due to the rise of ‘mallam prophets’ in the country.

According to Odeefuor Frimpong, prophets do not establish or lead a congregation, and described the current trend as disturbing.

“Prophets are rushing to establish churches due to their personal gains. They are being enticed by Satan to counterfeit the work of God, thus preventing the glory of the Lord from operating in the life of people.

“The evil spirits have suppressed God’s work and are frustrating the genuine men of God because they were not properly trained, rather, they are turning away the hearts of people from God,” he stated.

He referred to Acts 8:9-25 where a sorcerer who declared himself a prophet foretold the secrets thing of his town folks.

“Most prophets are operating under this kind of spirit, devouring the people of their treasures. These prophets have no covenants with God but the devil, sucking congregant’s blood,” he affirmed.

He further urged prophets to work with pastors, apostles, evangelist and teachers as part of the fivefold ministry.

He however advised upcoming ministers of God to be proud of where God has called them to operate in the fivefold ministry and not to copy what others are doing.
