Policy group Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) says whichever party loses the election petition should not seek for a review.

The think tank says accepting the final verdict without challenging it will "facilitate the process of national reconciliation and unity".

The Institute, in a statement issued on Monday, also said whichever party emerges winner must also “refrain from provocative victory celebrations and taunting of the other party".

It also encouraged Ghanaians to remain calm and repose confidence in the Supreme Court.

The IEA also called on the youth to “refrain from acts that could threaten the peace of the nation before and after the court verdict and on the leadership of the disputing political parties to adhere to the provisions of the 2012 Political Parties Code of Conduct, which they prepared and signed in the run-up to the 2012 general elections”.

The think tank also applauded the Supreme Court for "upholding the rule of law and instilling in all citizens, a sense of respect and regard for the state, the constitution, law and order".

It urged the media to "maintain absolute impartiality and avoid provocative discussions that could inflame passions" while asking the security agencies to "stand ready to act proactively and swiftly to secure the peace and safety of Ghana after the court's ruling without fear or favour."
