Don't take decisions based on hearsay -Asonaba-Dapaah

Ntribuoho (Ash), April 12, GNA- Mr Benjamin Asonaba-Dapaah, a member of the Council of State has called on Ghanaians not to make decision based on hearsay.

He said it is time people tried to discern between the truth and falsehood so that they are not overtaken by events.

Speaking at an Easter fund raising harvest at Ntribuoho in the Kwabre district, Mr Asonaba-Dapaah expressed worry about the way people politicise issues in the country.

He said there was the need for people to exercise restraint to enable the government to meet the challenges to develop the country, adding, "the government cannot solve all problems facing Ghanaians at a go".

The member of the Council of State stressed on the importance of education and urged the people to support their children to reach higher levels of education to become useful citizens.

He told them to identify themselves with the National Health Insurance Scheme so that they could have easy access to effective medical care when they fall sick.

Mr Asonaba-Dapaah advised them to get actively involved in the processing of their voters' registration identity card so that they can exercise their franchise in this year's general elections to be held in December.

Mr Solomon Larbi, Kwabre District Finance Officer, who represented the District Chief Executive, Alhaji Ahmed Akwasi Yeboah, said the assembly recognises their communal spirit and hoped that it will be sustained.

He said the assembly would continue to support them in their self-help development projects, noting that communities that wait for government's support lagged behind development since the government alone cannot shoulder all responsibilities.

Mr Larbi commended them for their self-help development projects led by Mr Paul Addai, Managing Director of Addai Cutlass Company which had made the town enjoy potable water, electricity and basic schools. He explained to the people why the road from Afrancho to Ntribuoho has not been reshaped and appealed to them to exercise patience since efforts are being made to get the road rehabilitated.

Nana Kofi Mensah, Odikro of Ntribuoho had earlier appealed to the assembly to support the people to get the road tarred to end the problem of the road being destroyed after a few period of reshaping. An amount of 5.3 million cedis was realised.
