Believers in the country have been counseled against using religion for destruction rather; it must be used to promote national cohesion as Muslims in Ghana joined others elsewhere to celebrate the Eid-ul Adha.

“Human beings are more than politics. …we should not use religion for destruction. …religion must facilitate development”, General Secretary of Christians Council Ghana (CCG) advised.

“We may have differences in faith matters but we are one people and our oneness as a country must always be protected and we must cherish that”, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong appealed.

“I must say that there is something as a country the various religious bodies we have been able to do together the co-existence and inter faith harmony”, he spoke in an interview on Radio Ghana.

“The Christians Council of Ghana wishes all Muslims in Ghana and other part of the world happy celebration”, CCG issued in a statement urging Muslims youth to stay from all forms of crimes.

Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong also appealed to believers to continue to hold up to common humanity before anything else.

“We must always uphold to our common humanity. As Christians, Muslims and Hindus, Buddies, we are human beings first before our various affiliations”, he pointed out.

“So when I see a human being I must not reduce that person to a religious being or ethnic being or political being”, he said.
