Some workers of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) have called on the government to take action on their Deputy Commissioner in charge of operation, Madam Doris Ocansey.

The workers who came to the offices of the paper last Tuesday claimed that Madam Ocansey has been boasting that she is a good friend to the sister of President Kufuor and so far as she is concerned, she is in the good books of the President?s family, thus untouchable.

Workers who spoke to the paper but pleaded for anonymity said even though the retiring age of public and Civil servants is pegged at 60 years, the woman who according to official document was born on October 6, 1936, thus 68 years was still at post.

The workers wondered whether the government was scared to ask her to go home as they could be blamed for persecution by the opposition NDC.

They claimed that the continuous stay in office of Madam Ocansey would ultimately cast a slur on the organisation and the government in general because the woman is a known activist of the NDC and even hero-worshipped former President Rawlings.
