Former Member of Parliament and Minister under former president Jerry John Rawlings, Mr. Kojo Yankah is sounding alarm bells that government’s proposed double-track education system risk drawing back the clock of progress in the country’s educational system

According to him, he is well aware of the real challenges that face students on campus both as an educationist and president of the Adisadel Old Boys Association

The founder of the African University College of Communication stated in a post on his Facebook wall” Some years back we spent 7 years on campus. Then came SSS which gives students 3 years on campus. Ghana has not recovered from the deficit in quality. Now the new system means 6 months in school, 6 months on vacation? We need to tread cautiously”

According to him, there is the need for broader consultation before the rollout of the double-track system.

He explained further that comments by the finance minister suggesting that the free SHS policy should be targeted defeats the universal free SHS proposal adding” can we all have a principled national debate devoid of insults?”

He also worried September is just around the corner and the kids are expected back in school.
