The honourable Minister of Parliament (MP) for Sagnarigu Constituency in the Northern Region, Hon. Fuseni Bashir Alhassan has stated that Telecommunications Companies should not surcharge for mobile money transactions.
He was speaking in an interview on Happy FM’s “Epa Hoa Daben”.
“There should not be a double charge on mobile money transactions. It will be an illegal transaction”, he said.
He added that the issue has unofficially come to the attention of parliament which will also take steps against it. However, by 22nd of this month it is most likely that the concern will be addressed at the parliamentary sitting as it has become an issue in the public domain.
He was speaking to the phenomenon in the mobile money business where customers are charged for transferring money and also charged for receiving.
