A legal practitioner, Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo, has expressed disappointment in the Communication Directorate of the Presidency for issuing what he described as “double suspension”.
According to the lawyer, such mistakes should not be coming from a high profile office like the Presidency, adding that such needless actions expose the Presidency to public ridicule.
The President, Nana Akufo-Addo on Wednesday issued a statement , announcing the suspension of four Justices of the High Court.
The suspension of justices Uuter Paul Dery, Justice Mustapha Logoh, Justice Gilbert Ayisi Addo and Justice Charles Quist was to take immediate effect, a statement signed by the Director of Communications at the presidency Eugene Arhin said.
Lawyer Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo in an interview with Kaakyire Ofori Ayim on Atinka AM Drive, questioned the suspension describing it as unprofessional.
According to Nii Samoa Addo, Justice Gilbert Ayisi Addo for instance was earlier suspended in 2015 and wondered why the Presidency would be issuing a statement to that effect in May 2018.
He added that Justices Dery, Logoh and Ayisi Addo are already on suspension have since been receiving half salary, not sitting and are not receiving their allowances.
“How can such persons be suspended by the government again?” he asked.
