Beposo, (Ash), July 23, GNA – Members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been reminded about the need to pool resources and make the needed sacrifices to bring the party back to power in the 2012 general elections.
Dr Thomas Forkuo Agyapong, who contested and lost the party’s recent parliamentary primary in the Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo Constituency, said they could not afford division and unnecessary distractions.
Speaking at a meeting of the polling station executives of the NPP at Beposo, he said they must remain focused and stand with the party’s flag-bearer and parliamentary candidates every step of the way.
Dr Agyepong pledged to work closely with Mr Kwame Asafo-Adjei, the candidate, to ensure resounding victory in next year’s poll.
He said since multi-party democracy was all about numbers the NPP must hold on to all of its members and woo more floating voters.
Mr Adjei asked them to step up their political education campaign to help voters to have better understanding of the party’s ideology and win them over.
He underlined the importance of teamwork and invited all to see each other as members of one big family and do away with petty internal wrangling.
Mr Kwasi Owusu Kodua, the Constituency Chairman, said the NPP could not disappoint Ghanaians yearning for the party’s return to restore hope and confidence to the nation.
