Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia seems to have lost his voice since the cedi started taking a downward trend, according to the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye.

The NDC MP posits that instead of the Vice President finding ways of saving the cedi from further depreciation, he is rather moving from one place to the other; embarking on tours.

"Bawumia has become a Tourism Minister . . . and an escort to the Ministry of Finance . . . travelling to India and holding a sword," he said.

Nii Lante Vanderpuye who was speaking on Multimedia Joy News channel, Wednesday morning, said as someone who had all the answers to the economic challenges when the NDC was in power, Dr Bawumia should have stayed in the country to answer every question on the minds of Ghanaians on matters of the economy and the cedi.

"Blame Bawumia for the depreciation of the cedi . . . all these questions, where is Bawumia to answer them? Today he is no more singing the same chorus . . . he should be singing the same chorus . . . today he has lost his voice . . ." he opined.

Meanwhile, the latest numbers from some commercial banks in the country, suggest the cedi has started appreciating against the US dollar.
