Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has toured Agona East, West and Gomoa Central constituencies, to solicit votes in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Nsaba in the Agona East constituency, Dr Bawumia said the former president failed to live up to expectations and Ghanaians voted him out of power.

He called on the people of Agona East to vote massively for him as President and Madam Hannah Asamoah as MP, to continue their good policies and programmes, adding that the NPP government had rolled out Agenda 111 hospitals and constructed new courts in over 100 districts nationwide to bring judicial delivery services to the doorstep of the people.

The Vice President said that through digitalisation, the government had eliminated ghost workers from payrolls and saved the nation thousands of Cedis from SSNIT and other government institutions.

Dr Bawumia said if Ghanaians voted for him as President, he would change the current chieftaincy Act to bring chiefs closer to government and would also pay living allowances to Paramount and Divisional chiefs and Queen mothers.

He assured the chiefs and the people that if voted into power he would create one million jobs for the youth through digitalisation where many youths could work in the UK, USA, Canada and other countries without travelling outside.

The Vice President recounted the many achievements he had made as vice president and urged the people and chiefs to promote him to become full president to improve quality of lives.

Dr Bawumia introduced Madam Hannah Asamoah as PC to the chiefs and people and urged them to vote massively for her to lobby for infrastructure for the area.

Okeseku Afari Mintah III, the Omanhene of Agona Nsaba Traditional Area commended the government for good social interventions created that had impacted positively the lives of the people and appealed to Dr Bawumia to help construct roads and complete dormitories at secondary schools.

At Nyakrom in the Agona West constituency, Dr Bawumia held meetings with stakeholders where he called on them to vote for him as President and Mr Chris Arthur as MP to help bring more infrastructure and human development to the area.

He said the introduction of free SHS had chalked significant success in the lives of many Ghanaians, adding that 5.7 million students have graduated from the novel secondary educational policy since its inception.

Dr. Bawumia endorsed Arthur as the only Parliamentary Candidate in the Agona West and called on the supporters to vote for him to enhance better living standards of the area, saying the NDC led by John Mahama as Presidential Candidate in 2024 elections has nothing to give Ghanaians.

In response to the petition made by Okofo Katakyi Nyakoh Eku X, the Omanhene of Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area about the creation of Agona Central District for Nyakrom, Dr Bawumia gave firm assurance that it would be done to facilitate development.

He pledged to complete the construction of dormitories in secondary schools at Nyakrom to enhance quality teaching and learning.

At Aboso in the Gomoa Central constituency, Dr Bawumia addressed teeming supporters of the party and held stakeholder meetings with chiefs, health workers, Ghana Education Service workers, artisans, clergy, Imams, tailors and dressmakers and Queen mothers to seek their concerns and needs and see how best to solve their problems.

Dr Bawumia introduced the MP and PC for Gomoa Central, Naana Eyiah Quansah to the chiefs and people and asked them to massively vote for her and himself in the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024.

The stakeholders pledged their unflinching support for Dr Bawumia by voting massively for him and Naana Eyiah as MP to continue their good works to reduce economic hardship.

Nana Odoom Amanfo I, the Chief of Gomoa Akropong, on behalf of the chiefs, commended the Vice President and President Akufo Addo’s government for the construction of roads in the area and further praised them for providing DRIP to Gomoa Central Assembly.

The Chief appealed to the Vice President to construct a nursing training college in the Gomoa Central District to admit the numerous SHS graduates who had to travel elsewhere to struggle for admissions.

The Vice President was accompanied by Kwabena Adjei Adjapong, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, Kwadwo Ansafoa Poku, Justina Marigold Assan, Central Regional Minister and other leading members of the party.
