Dr Genevieve Duncan Obuobi named among 100 outstanding women

The New Africa Magazine, a leading publication that champions authentic and inspiring stories that showcase the dynamic essence of Africa has named Dr. Mrs Genevieve Duncan Obuobi, a leading SME Consultant, Speaker, and Author among its 100 Outstanding Women 2023.

Its “The New Africa 100 Outstanding Women 2023” which was released recently, placed her in the ninth position in the rankings, while Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia who is the First female African head of state was placed number one. Wangari Maathai (Kenya), Environmentalist and Nobel laureate ranked number two.

The number three position was occupied by Amina J. Mohammed, a Nigerian diplomat and Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Others who also ranked high are – Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (Nigeria); Director-General of the WTO, Graça Machel (Mozambique); Humanitarian and former First Lady of Mozambique; Leymah Gbowee (Liberia) – Nobel laureate for peace activism; Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (Nigeria); Renowned author; and Jewel Taylor: 30th Vice President of Liberia.

Commenting on the recognition, Dr Mrs Duncan Obuobi who is the Lead Consultant of Tarragon Edge Limited, an Accra-based SME System and implementation company, said: “It is an honour to be in the midst of all these powerful African women doing great in various fields for the socio-economic development of Africa and the world at large”.

Dr Mrs Duncan Obuobi has received several awards and presented several papers across Africa and other parts of the globe.

Some of these awards include the Justina Mutale Foundation’s prestigious Iconic Female Leadership Awards in Philadelphia in the U.S 2023; Hive Africa Community Support Award 2021 in Lagos, Nigeria; Business Executive Magazine’s Outstanding Woman In Banking in Ghana 2021; and S.H.E Awards UAE.
