The former President of Malawi, Dr Joyce Hilda Banda, who will be a Special Guest of honor at a three days International sheroes forum at the prestigious Marriott Hotel, Al Jaddaf has arrived in Dubai ahead of the event. The founder and president for Elect Her In Africa (EHIA), and grassroots women's rights activist, was met on arrival by the founder of Sheroes Forum, Ms. Florence Tachie-Menson and Nii Amarh Amarteifio, Media Liaison for the forum.
The theme for this year’s forum is “African Women’s Leadership, Vision & Economic Empowerment”.
In a brief media interview, Dr. Banda averred “this Forum is to help us focus on empowering African Women to excel in various aspects of life. The principal mission is the advancement of the feminist movement and strengthening the influence of women in business, government, academia and society in general.”
Dr. Banda further indicated that “women empowerment would bring about the needed change yearned for in Africa, because they had their various countries at heart and would place their nations above their personal interest”.
The International SHEROES Forum will feature dynamic speakers and interactive sessions. Come listen to African women trailblazers talk about how they are redefining pathways to power in businesses, politics and in our communities. We want to evaluate women’s participation in positions of power in the public and private sectors and also identify challenges and barriers hindering our effective participation.
