The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 general elections, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, is rallying party members and supporters to unite as the party intensifies efforts to recapture power.

In an exclusive interview with 1957, Dr Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as NAPO, downplayed rumours of internal rifts, describing such narratives as distractions designed to derail the NPP’s forward march.

He emphasised that his unwavering commitment is to the collective interest of the party, not individual ambitions.

“At this stage, unity is not a suggestion, it is a non-negotiable imperative. We must focus on building a winning team, not chasing baseless rumours,” he stressed.

Dr Prempeh further noted that the real task ahead lies in reconnecting with the grassroots, refining the party’s message, and presenting a bold, credible alternative to the current administration.

He also urged the rank and file of the party to reject divisive commentary and embrace a spirit of collaboration.

“We have done it before, and I am confident that with unity, discipline, and focus, we can return to power and deliver once again for the Ghanaian people,” he declared.

His remarks come amid efforts by some political actors to sow discord within the NPP leadership.

However, Dr Prempeh maintains that the mission remains clear; to restore trust, rebuild momentum, and reenergise the party base for Victory 2028.
