There was drama on Monday, February 3, 2020, at the premises of the Kintampo North Municipal in Kintampo in the Bono East region during the election of a Presiding Member for the Assembly.

The Assembly had reconvened for the second time after it failed to elect a Presiding Member during its first meeting.

But an aggrieved Assembly Member who was not happy at the turn of events stormed the premises with a Schnapps and egg and rained curses on the MCE, Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe and officials of the Electoral Commission.

With shock clearly written on the faces of bystanders, Honourable Charles Gyinde, the Assembly Member for the Busuama Electoral Area and the Kintampo North Communications Director of the NDC called on the gods to deal with the officials.

According to him, the officials had connived to tilt the election results in favour of their preferred candidate.

In spite of the drama, the Assembly still went ahead and elected Paul Adom Frimpong as the new presiding Member.

Honourable Paul Adom Frimpong secured 50 Yes votes as against 13 No votes.
