Asamankese, Aug. 26, GNA - Solomon Amoah, an Akim Oda based driver, who was allegedly found selling a substance suspected to be cocaine and Indian hemp was on Tuesday arraigned before the Asamankese Circuit Court.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison custody to re-appear on September 22.

Police Chief Inspector Joseph Idan, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah that, on August 14 at Asamankese, a storekeeper saw Amoah and a witness in the case struggling over something and went to the scene to verify what was happening.

They found in his pocket a match box and when it was opened, they found four wrappers containing whitish substance they suspected to be cocaine and another wrapper with dried leaves they believed to be Indian hemp.

The two men then escorted him to the police station where he was arrested.

The prosecutor said the stuff would be sent to the Police forensic laboratory for analysis.
