Driver granted 50 million cedis bail

Tema, Jan. 19, GNA- The Tema Circuit Court 'B', has granted a bail of 50 million cedis to a Driver standing trial for over speeding and negligently causing harm to a pedestrian. Okoampa Richard Takyi who pleaded not guilty would reappear on January 31. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Teye Matey told the Court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye, that at 0600 hours on April 14, 2003, the accused knocked down a 24-year- old student who was crossing the street at the Seven Star Preparatory School junction in Tema. He said the victim sustained serious injuries and was admitted at the Tema General Hospital.
