Driver impregnates 15 year-old house help

Kade (E/R), June 2, GNA - Kwame Sarpong, a driver, on Tuesday appeared before the Kade District

Magistrate Court, charged with defiling a 15-year-old house help. The plea of Sarpong was not taken and was remanded in prison custody to reappear on June 10. Police Inspector Francis Cobbina, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Iliasu, that


the complainant, a housewife and the accused lived in the same house where the 15-year-old girl was a


house help. He said about a week ago, the complainant noticed that the house help was pregnant and therefore sent

her to the Kade Government hospital for a pregnancy test, which proved positive. The prosecutor said when the girl was questioned, she said about five months ago, Sarpong had sexual


intercourse with her. The complainant reported the matter to the police who issued the complainant with medical forms to


send the girl for examination. Sarpong was arrested and admitted the offence. 2 June 10
