The Visa section of the British High Commission will be introducing a "drop-box" facility for previous travellers to the United Kingdom with effect from Monday 25 March 2002.
A release from the High Commission said the facility may be used by visa applicants who meet the following criteria:
* You have travelled to the United Kingdom as a visitor or business visitor at least twice in the past year; or
* You are a regular traveller to the United Kingdom and you are applying to renew an existing or recently expired two-year or five-year visit visa.
The release said all applications should be completed in the normal way and according to the guidance notes enclosed with the visa application form, with applicants making sure that they provide all the information requested, together with a Barclays bank draft for the correct visa fee.
"The visa application form, supporting documents and photocopies, passport, and bank draft should be put into an envelope, sealed and addressed to: British High Commission, Visa Section, Drop Box Facility, Accra. These applications may be dropped off at the BHC, Visa Section between 11:00 and 12:00, Monday to Friday. You do not have to deliver your own application, but you will be expected to collect your own passport the following working day between 13:30 and 14:00."
People with enquiries about the drop-box facility should call the BHC Visa Section on 021-7010721.
