No one on board the 'trotro' was harmed by the allegedly drunk policeman
The Ghana Police Service says it has sent a viral video in which a Policeman is who appears drunk is seen wielding an AK47 rifle on a commercial bus to all Police Commanders as it intensifies efforts to identify the officer.
A video of the incident shows the cop bragging about his drinking habits as he appears utterly a nuisance to other passengers who boarded the vehicle with him.
That notwithstanding passengers were at risk as he struggled to control himself and the rifle.
The drunk officer who is reportedly stationed at Madina Police Service boarded the vehicle from Ridge roundabout to Madina.
He was heard in a loud voice saying in twi that, “me ne obiaa nni asem”, to wit, ‘I have no problem with anyone’. This was after the conductor or driver’s assistant (mate) asked him to pay his fare.
The video sparked public outrage, especially on social media.
The Director of Public Affairs, Ghana Police Service, ACP David Elku says all commanders across the country are assisting to identify the officer.
