Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Welcomes The Ghanaian Consul General

The newly appointed Consul-General of Ghana to UAE, His Excellency Alhaji Abudulai Yakubu on May 24 called on His Royal Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, to announce his tenure of office in the country. The Consul-General held closed-door discussions with His Royal Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, at the Rulers’ Court, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Makhtoum warmly welcomed H.E Alhaji Yakubu to his Palace at 10am and seized the opportunity to wish him a fruitful stay in Dubai. H.E Yakubu then used the occasion to extend fraternal greetings to the Government of the United Arab Emirates(UAE) on behalf of the Government and peoples of Ghana. He reiterated the commitment of his Government to forge closer collaboration aimed at strengthening the cordial relations existing between the two countries.

They discussed matters of mutual interest particularly, the economy of Ghana, and explored areas of cooperation including agriculture, mining, energy, and technology. The Consul General highlighted that there were approximately one thousand (1000) Ghanaians residing in the UAE.

Sheikh Makhtoum assured H.E Yakubu that the UAE Government would continue to cooperate and strengthen bilateral ties with Ghana.

Present were Tony Kutteng, Vice Consul and other Emirati Government officials.
