Accra, March 08, GNA - The Duke of Kent has inaugurated drug detection equipment at the Kotoka International Airport, as part of a programme that aims at minimising the incidence of drug trafficking in the country.
Named "Operation West Bridge", the programme which is being sponsored by the British government, also includes the training for personnel of the Customs, Excise and Preventive Service by British experts.
Among those present at the inauguration were Ms Gloria Akufo, Minister of Aviation, Brigadier Richardson Baiden, Chairman of the Narcotics Control Board, Mr Willie Orhin and Acting Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority.
The Duke of Kent represented Queen Elizabeth II of Britain at the 50th anniversary celebrations.
