Dumanafo raises five million cedis towards power extension Dumanafo (Ash), April 29, GNA - The chiefs and people of Dumanafo in the Kwabre District realised more than five million cedis at a fund-raising rally to extend electricity to the town.

They have already erected 25 out of the 60 low-tension electricity poles needed for the project. Speaking at the function, Nana Boakye-Yiadom, a Kumasi businessman and a citizen of the town, told the people not to allow politics to stand in the way of development.

He said that the people could improve their living conditions if they are united and called on non-resident citizens to support the community's initiative to develop the area.

Nana Adwoa Tweneboa, queenmother of the town, appealed to the district assembly and the MP for the area to support the efforts of the people with part of their share of the Common Fund.

She advised the youth to stay away from anti-social practices such as alcoholism, drug addiction and pre-marital sex.
