Selorm Dzramado, one of the organizers of the ongoing #DumsorMustStop vigil, has criticized the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government for its stance on the intermittent power supply the country is experiencing.

According to him, despite dumsor affecting the livelihoods of several Ghanaians, the government is pretending as if nothing is happening and has failed to take the necessary steps to resolve the energy crisis.

He stated that a family recently lost their newborn in the hospital because the lights suddenly went off, but rather than taking responsibility, the government attempted to spin the situation.

He added that people are not only losing their lives because of dumsor, but many businesses are also closing up because of the menace.

"We are here to observe this important event to demonstrate our frustration and disappointment over the erratic power supply in the country today.

"The energy crisis is so severe that we are drawing the government’s attention to the fact that businesses are collapsing because of the dumsor situation... Dumsor must stop now," he said at the dumsor vigil on June 8, 2024.
