The chief of Dunkwa, Nana Obeng Nuako III, has called for unity to ensure political stability before, during and after the general elections in December.

According to him political unity and stability are very important for the development of the country. He said Ghana can only realize her dreams of becoming an upper middle-income country if political stability exists to ensure economic and social development.

The chief who was marking the 10th anniversary of his enstoolment as the Dunkwahene, said “we will not allow disgruntled politicians or their agents to disturb the peace we enjoy in Dunkwa”.

Nana Nuako III admonished Ghanaians to accept and tolerate each other and see themselves as one people with a common destiny and shun any politician whose agenda is to preach violence in the run-up to the general elections in December.

The chief expressed gratitude to the people of Dunkwa for the support accorded him during the past ten years, which he said had helped him to achieve a lot for his people.

He mentioned the establishment of a Nursing and Midwifery Training College and several second cycle institutions to boost education in the area during the period he has been on the stool.

Nana Akwasi Ofori, Kyidomhene of Dunkwa and chairman of the anniversary planning committee praised Nana Nuako III for promoting the Dunkwa Traditional Council.

He noted that ten years of honest leadership by the Dunkwahene has brought fresh breath of integrity to the stool and also placed Dunkwa-on-Offin on the national landscape as a peaceful and progressive town.

Nana Ofori also praised the Dunkwa over-lord for contributing to the development of education and agriculture by personally engaging in farming and even earning national recognition.
