Nkawie Circuit Court presided by His Lordship Michael Abbey has sentenced 48-year old Mohammad Lufai 24 months imprisonment for stealing Dustin belongs to Kumasi Metropolitan AssemblyAssembly.

The accused person Mohammed Lufai on September 22, 2018 arrested by Suame District Police Command for stealing dustbins meant for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) “Operation Keep The City Clean And Green”.

Eva Amoateng who is a KMA night sweeper spotted Mohammed Lufai carrying the dustbin on that day around 6:30pm.

The accused person Mohammed Lufai arrested when Eva Amoateng confronted him.

The accused person Mohammed Lufai was charged for stealing.

Mohammed Lufai broke down in tears after pleading guilty with the charge leveled against him but told the court he found the dustbin on a dumping site.

Police Prosecutor Inspector Stephen Amugbel told the court that stealing of KMA dustbins has become rampant making the assembly Operation Keep The City Clean And Green” unsuccessful.
