AMSTERDAM, Dec 24 (Reuters) - The Hague police said on Friday they had seized 2,006 kilos of cocaine from a Panamanian-registered freighter in an Amsterdam dockyard and arrested its crew.
An investigation team led by The Hague police swooped down on the ship after it moored in the yard on Thursday morning. The cocaine, a record catch for The Hague police, was found in a concealed space.
The 13 crew members were arrested and taken to The Hague. Eight of them were from Ghana, two from Ecuador, two from Peru and one from Surinam. They will be brought before a public prosecutor later on Friday, the police said.
