The Dynamic Youth Movement of Ghana, is calling on Government to stop the insensitivity towards the Coalition of Bonded Unemployed Nurses.

The Group wants to bring to the notice of all Ghanaians, that it stands in firm solidarity with the frustrated Nurses.

The Group calls on the Minister of Health, Honorable Kwaku Agyemeng Manu to come out with a clear cut panacea not later than fourteen working days, otherwise the group will embark on series of demonstrations until the nurses are employed.

Below is the Full Statement.

STATEMENT BY THE DYNAMIC YOUTH MOVEMENT OF GHANA (DYMOG) ON GOVERNMENT FAILURE TO EMPLOY OVER 4000 BONDED NURSES

THEME: GOVERNMENT MUST STOP THE INSENSITIVITY AND EMPLOY THE OVER 4000 NURSES NOW!

The Leadership and entire membership of DYMOG is deeply aggrieved by the uncaring posture of Government towards the over 4000 unemployed Nurses.

These Professionals, were promised by the NPP in the run up to the 2016 General Elections that when elected, all Nurses who have graduated but unemployed, since 2012 will be employed.

Going by credible information available to DYMOG, these Nurses have all been Bonded and fully licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Commission (NMC). So clearly absolutely nothing stops Government from employing these Nurses to earn a livelihood.

As a movement that is much interested in the welfare of the Ghanaian Youth, we deeply empathize with these Nurses who are wallowing in the valleys of despair. DYMOG has decided to give the unemployed Nurses our unflinching support in this struggle. We shall pursue this injustice, until Government employs them.

Fellow Ghanaians, DYMOG disagrees completely with the reasons cited by Health Minister, Honorable Agyemang Manu that account for Government’s unwillingness to employ these highly poised Professionals, who are ready to serve their Nation. The massive infrastructure drive in the health Sector pursued by the erstwhile John Mahama administration cannot account for these nurses being unemployed. Health infrastructure is essential in improving the quality of health delivery in our Nation.

By this Statement,

1. DYMOG calls on the Coalition of Unemployed Nurses and their families to remain calm. They have our unflinching support and DYMOG will not rest until they are employed

2. Secondly, we call on the Ministry of Health to come out with a clearly defined solution within fourteen (14) working days from now. Failure to do this means Government is highly uncaring and we will demonstrate incessantly until these nurses are employed.

3. Lastly, DYMOG calls on Civil Society and the entire Citizenry to add their voice to this struggle.

Thank You.
