Dzodze, Nov. 22, GNA - A 120 million cedis library building with an apartment for a computer laboratory for the Dzodze Roman Catholic Demonstration Schools and the community was inaugurated at Dzodze on Monday.

The library with an office and a place of convenience was jointly financed by Mr Modestus Ahiable, former Parliamentarian for Ketu-North from his share of the District Assemblies Common Fund, the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) while the community provided labour.

About 2,000 assorted books donated by the Ghana Outlook And Christian African Relief Trust (GOCARD), the local branch of an international religious NGO and the Asogli Education Trust in Ho were also handed over to the school at the ceremony.

GOCARD, which also donated toys and 1.5 million cedis cash to help furnish the library pledged four sets of computers. Mr Ahiable asked parents to guide their children to develop interest in education instead of engaging them in jobs that occupied their time for studies.

He said unless parents understood that every child was capable of becoming an asset to society in future they would endeavour to provide the needed assistance to the upbringing of their children. Mr Ahiable pledged to provide a photocopier and a television set to the school to improve on teaching and learning.

Mr Joseph Achana, Executive Director of GOCARD, Ghana, said child-labour in the communities was preventing children from benefiting from facilities established for their education.

Mr Charles Akakpo, Headmaster of the school on behalf of the community appealed for a kindergarten block for the school.
