Accra, Dec. 7, GNA - The Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan on Tuesday expressed satisfaction with voting so far, but warned party officials and observers not to interfere with the work of Presiding Officers.

Speaking during his rounds to polling stations in Accra, he told reporters that everything was moving on well.

Voting started throughout the country at 0700 hours and although there were delays at some polling stations because of late arrival of voting material, voting has been going on smoothly.

Dr Afari-Gyan asked all party agents, observers and the security to stop interfering in the work of the Presiding Officers.

He said it was not the duty of party agents, observers and the Police to instruct the Presiding Officers about what to do. The Presiding Officer, he said, was the overall officer at the polling centre and his authority should be respected.

Dr Afari-Gyan also warned unaccredited people, who were moving round the polling centres, to stop.
